The 287^th Pontiff Srila Sri Saravana Sri Jnanasambanda Desika Paramacharya Swamigal
After the divine ruling of 286^th pontiff Srila Sri Annamali Sri Jnanasambanda Desika Paramacharya Swamigal, the 287^th Guru Maha Sannidhanam Srila Sri Sravana Sri Jnanasambanda Desika Paramacharya Swamigal did his divine ruling. During their period only, Pachiappa Mudaliar of Chennai who used to do good deeds was initiated and became his disciple.
287^th Guru Maha Sannidhanam stayed for quite a long period at Thiruvaiyaaru Thirumadaalayam that belonged to Madurai Aadheenam. Even today that street is called by the name ‘Madurai Mutt Street’.
In Thiruvaiyaaru, this Sannidhanam became ‘Guru Moortam’ and showed his grace. There, the hallowed day of ‘Guru Puja’ falls on Aavani of the Tamil month on the day of Moola Nakshatra. Pachiappa Mudaliar donated this street along with few lands to both of these Mutts.
