Guru Mahasannidhanams Inaugurate Hunger-Free Spiritual Process

21 August 2012: Paramahamsa Nithyananda and his predecessor, the 292nd pontiff of Shyamala Peetha Sarvajnapeetham, jointly addressed a press meet in Kodaikanal today on the occasion of the inauguration of the 21-day Inner Awakening & Niraahaara Samyama (final level) meditation programs being held at the Sterling Valley View Resort here.
The program was inaugurated with the lighting of the lamp by Srila Sri Arunagirinatha Sri Jnanasambandha Desika Paramacharya Swamigal, the 292nd pontiff of Shyamala Peetha Sarvajnapeetham and the predecessor of H.H Paramahamsa Nithyananda, who is the 293rd pontiff.
Paramahamsa Nithyananda opened the press meet with warm words of welcome to the media, as well as the participants of 21-day Inner Awakening and The Niraahaara Sammyama meditation program, in which 234 devotees from 17 countries are participating from around the world.
The Niraahaara Sammyama: For the next 21 days, these participants will be living on nothing but water and juices if necessary. The participants attending this program have already passed the first three levels of training required to take up this advanced process, which includes employing special yogic techniques, pranayama and kriya to achieve effortless freedom from hunger and thirst without employing will-power. Paramahamsa Nithyananda explained that ‘Sammyama’ means exploring the possibilities of extraordinary experiences and powers which are available to all of us. The word ‘samamyama’ has its origins in the Tamil epic ‘Tirumandiram’ revealed by the Saint Tirumoolar, who is believed to have lived in the physical body for over 3000 years without any solid food. The word ‘Tirumandiram’ translates as the ‘Science of Miracles’.
Paramahamsa Nithyananda praised the continuous efforts of the 292nd pontiff to eradicate communal and religious conflicts and bring back peace and harmony, not only across Tamil Nadu, but in Sri Lanka and many other countries worldwide. He also lauded the latter’s initiatives to preserve and promote the Vedic tradition.
The 292nd pontiff clarified in his humorous style that there are absolutely no differences between himself and Paramahamsa Nithyananda as falsely portrayed in certain sensationalist media. Dismissing all such reports, the 292nd pontiff reaffirmed that Paramahamsa Nithyananda would be the permanent spiritual head of the Shyamala Peetha Sarvajnapeetham as its 293rd pontiff. Clarifying that Paramahamsa Nithyananda has sought no share in the Shyamala Peetha Sarvajnapeetham’s assets, he reiterated that on the contrary, Paramahamsa Nithyananda had brought manpower and administrative strength into the Shyamala Peetha Sarvajnapeetham. The 292nd pontiff challenged those opposing the coronation of Paramahamsa Nithyananda to find another individual of equal capability to head the Shyamala Peetha Sarvajnapeetham. He jokingly praised the media, however, for spreading the name of Shyamala Peetha Sarvajnapeetham around the world through this propaganda.
The 292nd pontiff also spoke on the importance of right diet and yogic practices in maintaining health and aiding in spiritual disciplines. In conclusion, the 292nd pontiff showered his heartfelt blessings on the participants who are entering into the hunger-free (Niraahaara) Sammyama today.
