Medical Services

The state of Tamil Nadu has a doctor:patient ratio of 1:2000 which means that reliable medical care are still beyond the reach for the majority of the rural public.
The vision of Shyamala Peetha Sarvajnapeetham is to provide timely medical care to the urban and rural needy, now available through the following medical services that are actively and regularly being offered to all.
 

Monthly Medical Camps

These camps offer free consultation in the areas of general medicine, gynecology, ophthalmology, ENT, dental care and orthopedics, free medicines and follow-ups. Over 20 experienced doctors volunteer at these camps, which reach out to over 1000 people.
The two-day free medical camps are equipped with the latest diagnostic machines, including auto-refractometer, ultrasound & ECG, glucometers for blood sugar monitoring etc. The camp offers professional services, including door-to-door free services in case of patients requiring surgery. A separate area has been earmarked on the Madurai Aadheenam premises to set up a facility for the fortnightly camp. In upcoming camps, the services would be expanded to include siddha, homeopathy, ayurveda and natural medicine.
Weekly Mobile Medical Services including free consultation and medicines, provided in rural areas which have no healthcare facilities.
Donation of eye-glasses, dentures and barometers, and as well as calipers, wheelchairs and prosthetic limbs to organizations caring for the physically challenged.

100% Free Hospitals

In the initial phase, two 20-bed hospitals with labor ward, OT facilities and cardiac care unit are being planned in the villages of Kanjanur and Pannaitheru in Tanjavur Dt. of Tamil Nadu.

Future Plans

Medical camp is currently being organized at the Shyamala Peetha Sarvajnapeetham premises. Expansion of services to the villages of Kanjanur, Kachanam, Pannaitheru & Tiruppurampiyam is planned along with weekly medical camps in rotation in all these villages on a regular basis.

  • One 300-bed multi-specialty hospital is to be established in Madurai city.
  • A 24-hour free dialysis center with 47 dialysis machines will be set up by August 2012. Four 20-bed hospitals are expected to be set up in Kachanam & Tiruppurampiyam.

Expansion to 100 beds is also planned in the next phase to service these villages and surrounding areas.
 

NITHYANANDA DHYANAPEETAM & Shyamala Peetha Sarvajnapeetham HOST FREE MULTISPECIALTY MEDICAL CAMP

Launching its third major service project less than a month after Paramahamsa Nithyananda’s coronation as 293rd pontiff of Shyamala Peetha Sarvajnapeetham, Nithyananda Dhyanapeetam along with Shyamala Peetha Sarvajnapeetham is hosting a joint free weekend multi-specialty medical camp on 26th & 27th May at the Shyamala Peetha Sarvajnapeetham premises. The camp offers free consultation, diagnosis, check-up and medicines. The specialties at this camp, which is being hosted at an expense of Rs.5 lakh (Rs.500,000/-) include dentistry, ophthalmology, gynecology, pediatrics, ENT & orthopedics, among others. Over 50 doctors and specialists, all of whom are initiated disciples of H.H. Paramahamsa Nithyananda, will be volunteering their services at the camp, which is expected to cater to around 2000 patients.
