Pannagaparameshwara Swami Temple, Pannatheru

Sri Pannagaparameswara Swami Temple is located at a beautiful scenic spot in a small village called Pannatheru in the South Indian State of Tamilnadu. The temple also has the Samadhi or final resting place of the 290th pontiff of the Shyamala Peetha Sarvajnapeetham, Sri La Sri Jalathamba Swaminatha Sri Jnanasambanda Desika Pramacharya Swamigal. 
This temple is sung in the Tamil poetic composition called “Thiruvisaipa” by Karur Thevar and the Hymns find place in 9th Tirumurai (Tirumurai is a twelve-volume compendium of songs or hymns in praise of Paramasiva in the Tamil language from the 6th to the 11th century sung by various poets in South India).

Pannatheru is surrounded by Tirutturaippundi Block towards west, Keelaiyur Block towards East, Kilvelur Block towards North, Vedaranyam Block towards South. 
Tiruthuraipoondi, Tiruvarur, Vedaranyam, Nagapattinam are the near by villages to Pannatheru. Pannatheru is in the border of the Nagapattinam District and Tiruvarur District. 
How to reach by train: The Manali Halt Rail Way Station and Alattambadi Rail Way Station are the closest railway stations to Pannatheru.
How to reach by Air: The Tiruchirapalli (Trichy) airport is the closest after which you can take a taxi or bus.
